TOEBEE PARKHURST ON ADAM CLARKE
If I made a myspace page for Adam his headline would say "There is no try, there is only do." or maybe it would say, "Walk softly and carry a big stick." He'd have some photos that he's had in the mags, which is more than anyone else within 100 miles of Springfield has ever had - or ever will. He'd have a bunch of photos of him riding dirt bikes or skating with his son Ethan. His profile song would be by Bob Dylan, and I wouldn't be bothered with tricking out his page with some corny background or something. He sure wouldn't be caught dead with one of those sunglass wearing "I'm about to drop a hammer" poses. He wouldn't kook himself like that! Come to think of it, you probably wouldn't know because his profile would be "private" and he'd be denying your friend request. Well, I guess you would because even if Adam had a myspace page he wouldn't check it, so I would, and I never deny friend requests. Unfortunately most people won't get the opportunity to meet Adam, because he's doing his own thing. He's not too good or anything, he just can't be bothered.
The one thing I've realized is that after 10 years there's still no one more dedicated, or talented to ever skate in a Theory shirt. No one can even compete with Adam, because when he contributes he doesn't half step, he contributes 100%. Take a second and think about Adam, watch the parts he had in Thesis and Four Seasons. Remind yourself of the companies he rode for and then quit without a second thought when he felt like something else was more important. Adam won't lie, won't quit, won't back down and he sure as shit won't be on myspace!
