INTERVIEW: MIKE COTTO PHOTOS: BRIAN TORTORA
Lets start with the basics. Whats your name, age and how long have you been skating?
Nate Greenwood, 16 years of age, and about 7 1/2 years
Years ago you were skating like the typical little kid and now you are skating like a full grown man. Did you try to change your style, or did it come naturally?
Yah, I just went around "bro-camming" with my friends haha. I wouldnt say anything like a full grown man, but its amazing what puberty can do to you. I tried to progress my style a little, but I guess most of it just came naturally because I became more comfortable on my skateboard.
Most of the kids reading this interview have seen you skating at Junction and have seen your ability to skate anything better than mostly everyone. Is there any certain obstacle or any certain tricks you cant do, or give you trouble?
Well, I would say one of the most difficult tricks for me would be a nollie 360 flip. I just cant seem to pick it up. An obstacle that gives me the most trouble would have to be a manual pad. I have a couple manny tricks up my sleeve, but they arent even in the same league as yours.
We go skating almost everyday and everyday at every spot you always film something. Do you try to think of tricks to do or do they just pop into your head? What motivates you so much?
I just think of tricks and spots to do them at when Im skating, and even when Im not skating. Some spots that we go to are unplanned, and thats what makes skating fun for me. I like going to new spots and trying new tricks, and I am lucky, I could film at the new spots and land my tricks. That always gets me hyped. Also watching my friends skate and learn new tricks gets me hyped to learn new tricks and try different things.
